Our weekly email alerts offer opportunites for the placement of targeted Banner or Text-based advertisements. Our principle audience for these alerts are UK and US-based doctors. We will shortly also be offering geographic and profession-based ad targeting in our weekly What's new in BMJ email alerts and our monthly Specialty-based updates.

Banner or text-based adverts are placed at the top of these alerts. Banner ads can be static or dynamic in nature and we support a variety of delivery formats.

Technical specifications for email alerts

 

Banner advertisements

  • Ads should be received 5 working days prior to the campaign start date to enable technical compatibility tests to be run
  • Banner advertisements should be supplied GIF format only (static or animated). Rich Media/Flash format ads may also be accepted, subject to technical compatibility with our ad delivery system.
  • Maximum ad size 468 x 60 pixels
  • Maximum file size 16Kb

 

Text based adverts

  • Ads should be received 5 working days prior to the campaign start date to enable technical compatibility tests to be run
  • Text advertisements should not exceed 5 lines of text of 61 characters maximum per line (including spaces)**
  • Where ads include a URL, please add http:// to the URL, otherwise it will not be active and unable to be clicked on.
