Policy on Supplements of abstracts from scientific meetings

Policy on supplements of abstracts from scientific meetings

The BMJPG is willing to consider publication of meeting abstracts as supplements to BMJ Journals (www.bmjjournals.com). Publication is subject to approval by the journal editor, who will base his/her decision on the relevance of the meeting to the journal’s readers.

·         A quotation for publication will be provided by the managing editor on the basis of the likely pagination of the supplement, the print run, despatch, and arrangements for provision to regular subscribers.

.        Pagination will be estimated from the number of abstracts and other optional pages: programme, indexes, floor plans, advertising, etc.

·         Organisers must underwrite provision of the supplement to all regular subscribers in print and/or electronically (on the journal’s website and/or on CD-Rom).

·         The cost of publication may be offset by sponsorship and/or display advertising secured by the organisers (subject to approval by the BMJG).

·         The BMJG reserves the right to sell copies (in full or in part) of the supplement to other organisations or individuals and to license the foreign language rights.
