BMJ Group announces partnership with Epocrates

The BMJ Group and Epocrates, Inc., a US-based provider of clinical information products and services, today announced an exclusive development and marketing partnership. The companies are introducing new online clinical reference products to the US market with a unique patient-centered approach to assist clinicians in making critical treatment decisions at the immediate point of care.  Through the partnership, BMJ Group’s experienced editorial team is collaborating with physician authors to create comprehensive disease diagnosis and treatment monographs. In addition to clear, concise expert opinions, the monographs also contain links to the medical evidence in BMJ Clinical Evidence.

"BMJ Group is delighted to be working with Epocrates, a recognised US leader in point-of-care healthcare technology”, said Stella Dutton, chief executive officer for BMJ Group. "This is a tremendous opportunity for us to combine our strengths to provide clinicians with accurate and relevant diagnosis and treatment information where and when they need it most.”
The BMJ Group plans to make these products available in the UK and internationally during the early part of next year.

This announcement follows recent partnership announcements by the BMJ Group with MSD and Boots. The partnership with MSD’s medical portal univadis ® will enable  BMJ Learning to be available to physicians in 33 countries. The partnership with Boots provides the general public in the UK access to BMJ Best Treatments, the authoritative evidence based information for patients, via the Boots website “askboots.com”.
