BMJ Learning training session in UAE shows the way for CME
A training session taking users through the features and functionality of the new BMJ Learning website took place at Rashid Medical library, Department of Health and Medical Services in Dubai, UAE. Held on 16th November, the session was attended by over 50 doctors from the Department of Health and Medical Services hospitals, consultants from the Quality & International Accreditation and the Director of Nursing and Midwifery.
The session focused on the BMJ Learning Plan and Record features, identifying the delegates’ learning needs by demonstrating how to add appropriate resources, non-clinical modules, as well as areas of cardiovascular, gastroenterology, drug information, asthma and neurological disorders.
Dr. Dia Hassan (Consultant - Quality & International Accreditation, Al Wasl Hospital) said about the seminar:
“Thank you for giving us the chance to get exposed to this program. I believe it is very exciting and should have a major role in improving the education of our staff. In fact I wanted to write a note to Dr. Adnan to congratulate him on this subject but I heard he is not available. I believe DOHMS now should put condition on all staff that if they look for promotion they need to show evidence of continuing education since it is easily accessible for them, they should have no excuse any more. This will have a great impact on the standard of health services because our staff will be always up to date with new advances in the field and become exposed to best practices. Thank you again for the great job.”
