Your subscription extras

Once you take out a subscription to any of the BMJ Group products, are you aware of the support available to you?

On the BMJ Group website you can download various resources to assist in promoting the institution's subscription, have users attend Webex events to gain a better understanding of the product, request usage statistics and more.

Information you can download is laid out by product, however you can also request copies to be sent to your institution to display to your users or include in welcome packs to new staff/students.

If you require any assistance in promoting BMJ Group products to your users, please do not hesitate to contact Genie Powers who can supply you with a number of resources.

New topics online for Best Practice

Our newest monograph added to Best Practice is SWINE FLU.  Providing information on diagnosis, treatment and patient follow up including prevention of the virus, is now available to all our subscribers.

We have also added a patient leaflet with information on Swine Flu to ensure patients fully understand the virus and the options available to them.

Also added to the site are:

Acute liver abuse

Eye trauma

Placental abruption

All updates are now available online

Sending these updates to your users could encourage further usage and ensure they are kept up-to-date.  If you would like assistance in sending information like this to your users, please contact Genie Powers.

BMJ Learning - new modules added

At the BMJ Group, we are constantly working to meet the needs of our customers.  Our newest additions to the BMJ Learning site are on patient safety and have been made compulsory in many hospitals in the UK.  These, being our most popular modules, are:

Injectable medicines: prescribing, preparing and administering

Maintaining patients on anticoagulants: how to do it

Starting patient on anticoagulants: how to do it

Reducing the risk of hyponatraemia when administering intravenous fluids to children

If your institution has a core need which you feel is compulsory for all your members to learn about, our BMJ Learning team can support this.  More often this will be in the form of audio modules and can be made compulsory through your IP address which you will have set up at the beginning of your subscription.

To find out more, please contact us.

What's new for BMJ Journals

Do your users currently benefit from access to editorially relevant and internationally respected peer reviewed journals?

The BMJ Journals collection ranges from specialties such as GUT, STI, Emergency Medicine to one our newest editions to the collections specifically for Vets.

A subscription to the Vets contains online access to two publications:

The Veterinary Record, is a premier source of up-to-date information and news for all types of veterinary practice and science, and is successful in attracting high quality original research articles that have both immediate and ongoing impact on the veterinary profession worldwide.

In Practice, published in conjunction with The Veterinary Record provides authoritative continuing education material of direct practical relevance to practicing veterinarians. Jointly, the two journals cover the whole spectrum of veterinary interests.

If you would like further information on these or any of the other BMJ Journals, please contact our sales team, who can talk through subscription options for your institution.
