Contract+ FAQs
What is Contract+?
Contract+ is a comprehensive clinical support application from the authors of the renowned FrontDesk appointment package. Contract+ provides all the management information required for all the specified Chronic Diseases and Records, recognising 746 points as well as additional non-nGMS and Child Immunisation. There are inclusive Graphs, Trends and an extensive Reports facility. Contract+ provides appropriate pop up prompts for patients not meeting the contract requirements when their clinical record is accessed. For background information regarding the QoF Rulesets, you can access the DoH ruleset specifications here.
What clinical systems does Contract+ work with?
Contract+ can be configured to allow practices to have a personalised system, integrating with iSOFT System 5, System 6000, Premiere NT and Premiere Synergy as well as EMIS LV and InPS ViSion.
How do the pop-up prompts work?
The pop-up prompts are automatically displayed alonside the clinical record if contract-related actions are required. The prompt normally provides recommendations based upon the next April reference date (e.g. B.P. reading on 11 Sept 2005 of 135 / 75 will expire on 11 Mar 2006). The prompt also advises the exemption rules and how to exclude a patient from a cohort.
I don't have the FrontDesk appointment system, does it still work?
Contract+ works with as a standalone application with or without an existing appointment system, automatically providing full patient specific pop-up prompts when entering patients' notes.
I have FrontDesk. Do I get additional modules?
When installed alongside FrontDesk, an additional flag is displayed alongside the patients name in the appointment book indicating that the patient requires data entry relevant to the Contract. This will enable the clinician to pre-review his appointment list or reception staff to become involved in the contract process by booking additional relevant appointments.
Does Contract+ include reports?
Contract+ has a comprehensive range of analytical reports capable of identifying all contract denominator and numerator patients, which can be viewed, printed or exported to other Windows applications. Mailmerge facilities are also included.
Can I review patient lists?
Contract+ provides a list of contract patients under the Contract disease categories. All patient specific data can be viewed and additionally there is a dynamic link into the clinical notes permitting expanded examination and review.
My figures are low, I may have wrongly entered data.
Contract+ also uniquely provides a list of 'contract possible' patients. This indicates that there are Read codes in their clinical notes which could indicate the need to be included in one of the disease categories, but the correct Read code for the Contract has not been used. If, after reviewing the clinical record, they should be included, then the correct Read code should be added. If they should not be included then the patient can be removed from the 'contract possible' list.
How often does Contract+ analyse the data?
We recommend setting a windows scheduled task daily, but as a typical analysis takes under 30 minutes, multiple analyses can be performed in a single working day if required. The speed of the analysis is dependent upon the processing power of the PC running the analysis and the number of patients in the clinical system. All historical data is stored and can be referred back to of viewed as a trend graph. Every analysis includes 'today' and the next April reference date, but practice-specific profiles can also be added.
I am having problems with my existing contract software.
Contract+ has a comparatively low drain on system resources and only exceptionally requires hardware upgrades. Most PCs in the practice can have a Contract+ client installed so that Contract+ can be made available to the required staff.
